Whatever happened to Ged?

Ged, a one time pillar of the WHO community. Has he morphed into another character, he does not see evident.
I had many spats with him but always found to be nothing less than scrupulously obdurate!
Has anyone any news on the old git?

Ah gedediah - dear Ged - I remember him well sir.
One of the best of us all - perhaps the foremost exponent of Bovril drinking and badge wearing in England, in 1997 he renounced all material things and joined a mercenary sect in Kwa Zulu Natal - in the interior of darkest Africa.
Tales are legendary of how Ged led the Ubuntu tribesmen in their second ill feted war of attrition againt the Skengman tribe of Kwenkooni.
Ged was apparently speared and razored to death leading their last stand charge in the Runti pass: his force - violently routed - rallied into brave squares but were thrashed to death with branches and twigs from the surrounding foliage.
The only trace of Ged ever found was his blood slicked bent up glasses - found hanging in a tree, as if the tree were short sighted or had taken on human short sightedness & didnt know about contact lenses.
To this day - in parts of the African veldt - if you are very quiet on dark nights - you may still just detect the jingle jangle tingy sound of Geds many badges knocking together - like a tiny mouse gently playing the cymbals in the middle of the Kalahari.

I believe it was the White Hart but, could well be wrong
Met GED, Tipsy McStagger, Alfs Barnett and Madhammerette to name but a few
GED was definitely alright though wisely kept his council
